Chance of the Woolly Worm
to Get to the Other Side of the Road
No Chance. Six metres of asphalt.
Twenty cars a minute.
Five lorries. One tractor. One horse carriage.
The Woolly Worm does not know cars.
Does not know how broad the asphalt is.
Does not know anything about pedestrians, cyclists, motorcycles.
The Woolly Worm only knows that the other side
Has green plants. Beautifully green and probably eatable.
It likes green. It wants to get there.
No Chance. Six metres of asphalt.
It starts with its small stub feet.
Twenty cars a minute.
Starts without haste. Without fear. Without strategy.
Five lorries. One tractor. One horse carriage.
Starts and walks and walks and walks and gets there.
Rudolf Otto Wiemer
Even though the flame of hope
May be sometimes tiny,
It is always there
And let us not despair.
This hope is to give us strength
To work and build up
A roof of peace
Above our Earth
Stone by stone.

Dear Friends of our Shanti Family,
Just when I call you that, I see what mutual confidence is included in this expression:
Shanti – the large family in Nepal, which fully trusts that its friends in Germany will support it in living and expanding.
And what is more: you in Germany give us your money and rely on it that it is transferred to people who would have no future without your help.
The New Centre
»Future« – this is what comes to mind when we are walking across our hospital property. Our new centre is growing and growing. The hospital construction has risen up to the second floor of what will eventually be two-and-a-half floors. Workshops, the kindergarten and the large kitchen are being built at the same time.
We are very grateful that the persons in charge at the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation trust in us and provide us with the funds for this centre. And you, the donators, brought the amount of 37,000 euros which we had to provide ourselves!
Above the kitchen, there will be an organic bakery which is funded by an organic baker of Berlin, together with some colleagues from his trade association. An organic baker from Dortmund has already given us a big mixer and some other important equipment for the kitchen!
