A heartfelt welcome to the Shanti family!

Those who work in our centre for a while are almost automatically a member of the large Shanti family. We laugh together irrespective of some communication difficulties, we work together and in the afternoon, we are all pleased of the work which we have completed.

Not everyone has the opportunity of being there in Nepal but they still want to be one of the family! In this case, you can sponsor a child in the centre. A large number of friends have already done so , thereby helping as a member of the Shanti family.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

With at least EUR 30.00, we can cover the basic costs incurred for a child in our centre. This includes the monthly costs for food and clothing.
However, this does not include additional costs such as for:
school or kindergarten or school,
medical care, etc.

In 2001, a close organization in our neighbourhood calculated the real costs incurred in its own orphanage:

It should be stated here that at Shanti, the rent within the family and the own school incurs lower costs.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE MONEY?

We are certain that you will understand that we are unable to give the money to "your" child directly. The money from the sponsors is placed in the so-called "child pot".
The costs for all of the children in the Shanti family are then met out of the child pot.

WHY?

Many of the children in our family have not got a sponsor yet. We want to avoid a situation whereby these children have a feeling that they are not loved. Obviously, children without a sponsor are also sent to school and it speaks for itself that they are also entitled to the same food and medical care.

We hope to be able to cover and secure the total monthly expenditure for all of the children soon with numerous sponsorships!
